The warty glowspot cockroach (Lucihormetica verrucosa), also known as the warty glowspot headlight cockroach, is a medium-sized species, with adults measuring between 40 and 50 millimeters in length. This species exhibits sexual dimorphism, indicating significant physical differences between males and females.
It is one of the easiest cockroaches to rear as feeders. While adults are not great climbers, nymphs can ascend quite effectively. Neither adults nor nymphs are capable of flight.
These cockroaches flourish in a soil or coir-based substrate, with stacked egg crates providing ample hiding spots. They thrive at room temperature but should ideally be maintained in the high 20's to 30 degrees Celsius. Their diet includes chopped vegetables and fruits, along with dry cockroach chow as a supplement. Given the right conditions, they can be extremely prolific!
